Humanity will very likely go extinct before the earth is burnt to a crisp.
I don’t know how exactly, but we are, so far, a blip in the history of this once great planet. We’ve been here for something like 10,000 years (or two hundred, if you’re talking to a creationist), and the earth is roughly halfway through it’s projected 8 billion year lifespan. It has been extrapolated that Terra has about four billion years to go until Sol gets angry and goes fusion on our primate asses.
So this drawing is my look at this. Scientists say that 99 percent of species that have ever lived on this planet are now extinct. Breeding back doesn’t work - you can’t breed dogs back into wolves, at least, not on a genetic level. We’ve killed off some of the species we’ve encountered, and our presence here is dangerous to the livelihood of everything that lives.
